Spotting a Naked Duck at Long Dou Restaurant

It's been forever since I grabbed a meal with my bestie since the pandemic started.

Warning: This post is going to make you seriously hungry!

I woke up super early on a Saturday just for this roast duck!

Just look at that crispy, glistening skin... Is your mouth watering yet?

This beauty is the famous roast duck from Long Dou Restaurant, tucked away in an alley in Taipei's Zhongshan District. 😌

Before the pandemic, it was nearly impossible to get a table here. I can't believe I managed to snag a Saturday lunch reservation on a Friday night—and during the Double Ten long weekend, no less!

The servers brought the whole duck out to our table first so we could take some "before" photos, and then explained how they'd carve it up.

You really don't see many places present the food like that anymore! 😳

This was a massive duck. Besides the regular slices, they also served the crispy skin separated from the meat. For someone like me who is absolutely obsessed with the skin, this was heaven! XD

There was so much meat that the three of us girls couldn't even finish it. We were too scared to order any other main dishes, so we just got three dim sum plates—and we still had to take leftovers home.

At 2,000 NTD for the whole duck, the quality was unbelievable. It's honestly the best roast duck I've ever had in my life...

If I get it again, though, I'd probably do takeout. The AC in the restaurant was blasting so hard that our duck bone soup got cold in under 20 minutes, not to mention the rest of the food. 😂

Prepare to be tortured by some filet mignon and scallops!

On Sunday, a friend came up to visit from down south. He's helped me out a lot lately and even brought some rare goodies (?) for my followers, so I decided to treat him to a nice meal to say thanks.

I've been to this steakhouse a bunch of times but never tried their filet mignon. The mushroom and shrimp sauce definitely piqued my curiosity.

The flavor was pretty unique, but unfortunately, the shrimp in the sauce were those little cocktail shrimp, which I'm not a fan of at all. 😭

If I come back way down the line, I might just stick to a regular filet. 🤔

After dinner, we hit up the underground mall. My poor little brother was on the verge of tears because he still couldn't find the Gundam Aerial model he was looking for. (X

But we did grab the underground mall's specialty!

I know some of you are going to call me out right about now...

Okay... I'm sorry... but at 25 NTD for a massive scoop of ice cream... how could I possibly resist?

Honestly, I'm pretty proud of myself for stopping at one scoop instead of getting two. (?

Even though I started bleeding like crazy as soon as I got home—twice in two weeks now!—and I'm basically still on my deathbed... 🫠

But don't worry, everyone! When it's that time of the month, you just need to eat more chocolate.

And I don't mess around when it comes to chocolate! :D
