<Mama's Garden Log> 11/1/2022

Mama was away from home for two days for a long-overdue family trip! Too bad Mom was stuck at home ˊ_>ˋ
We took a trip to Yilan this time. It was originally planned for early September, but a typhoon forced us to push it all the way back to late October. And guess what? We ran into a typhoon anyway and spent both days getting rained on XD.
Our first stop on day one was making Sanxing scallion pancakes. Unfortunately, my hands were all greasy, so I don't have any photos of the finished product to show you guys. But I can sum it up in one word: delicious. Looks like Mama's cooking skills are still top-notch!
Sika deer seem to be super popular in Yilan lately. The place we visited had its own little farm with a few sika deer and a little donkey.
First, let me introduce this little lady. Pay attention, this will be on the test! This girl, number 138, ruthlessly yanked a whole chunk of hair right off Mama's head... If I didn't have so much hair (?), I'd practically be bald!
But I have a soft spot for small animals. With a face that cute, I have no choice but to forgive her.
This donkey buddy might look shy, but while the guide was giving us the rundown, he was gnawing on the guide's shoe for dear life O_O. Thank goodness my own little donkey at home never chews on my shoes, or he might have ended up on the dinner menu!
Lastly, let me introduce the farm's resident heartthrob. I completely forgot his number :D. But because his new antlers grew in a little crooked, it seems the ladies on the farm have been giving him the cold shoulder. That might be why our deer buddy has such a grumpy attitude.
Here's a picture to show you just how terrifying he is.
This is the face he made—baring his teeth—when my brother-in-law tried to get close to him. To protect the innocent, I won't expose my brother-in-law, but he was standing a solid three feet away!
And he wasn't the only one keeping his distance. After your Mama got smacked by his antlers a few times, I booked it out of there too. Those antlers were so... heavy... so hard and heavy... so thick... (???)
The best part of the trip was definitely getting up close with the animals at the farm. We got to pet them, though it seems the sika deer aren't big fans of being patted on the head XD.
