Chapter 64: 01/04/2024 Deep Space Lord's Weekly Journal

Hey everyone! It's time for our weekly journal entry again!
This is the very first entry of 2024—let's hear it for the new year!
I got to ring in the new year with all of you this week, and firing up 1-2-Switch after so long was an absolute blast! It was a huge bummer that we couldn't get the color-hunting game to show up no matter what we did, but did the alien cult ritual feel like it went by way faster this time around?! Have you guys been secretly practicing your alien-summoning skills?!
Aside from New Year's, I also finally got to play some Pokémon this week! During Tuesday's stream, I mentioned how it feels like a waste to catch Pokémon and not train them, kind of like having fur babies in real life and just ignoring them. But to be completely honest, I've caught a ton of my favorites that I haven't leveled up either, lol. Plus, since getting busy, I haven't had much of a chance to even boot the game up. That's why I'm honestly so impressed by all of you who love Pokémon and play it consistently! Whether you're completing the Pokédex, breeding and training, or just trading with friends, I think it's awesome how passionately you dedicate yourselves to the things you love.
I'm typing up this week's journal a little late today, but I have a perfectly valid excuse! (Wait, that doesn't sound right...)
I spent some time stream-hopping today and watched three or four different channels, and something just clicked. I suddenly understood how streamers create engaging moments and bring that entertaining vibe to life. I'm still processing the inspiration I got and trying to figure out exactly how to incorporate it into my own streams, but it definitely feels like a win. I've had similar thoughts before, but never this profoundly—it's like a lightbulb went off in my head today! I feel a little weird about it, but once I finish writing this, I'm going to take some more notes and really sit with this feeling. (And I still need to practice singing!)
Whenever I'm trying to learn something new or grasp a new concept, I tend to rely heavily on intuition and personal feeling. Because of that, learning, understanding, and replicating things can be really tough for me—I often don't even know where to begin. It usually takes a lot of trial and error before I find an approach that works for me, and sometimes I never quite get the hang of it at all!
I've also been reading a few novels lately! I want to recommend a new one to you guys, though it is a historical romance. It's called *The Second Wife*. The title might make it sound like a drama-filled story about petty family politics, but it's actually about a female protagonist who gets a second chance at life. It's a story about breaking free from past regrets, healing from past trauma, and protecting the people and things she holds dear. The writing style is really concise but incredibly warm, and the pacing is spot on. The core themes are all about independence, strength, and shedding the chains that hold you back. It's not finished yet, but I'd already give it a solid 9/10! It's such a good read!
Well, that's it for this week's journal! I'll see you all next week! I place one card face down and end my turn!
