20231222 Deep Space Lord's Weekly Journal Chapter 61

Hey everyone! It's that time of the week again for another journal entry!

It's the middle of the night, my headache is gone, my eye pressure is down, and my back doesn't ache anymore, so I'm hurrying to type up this week's update. Another week has flown by—have you guys missed me a ton? It's been forever since my last stream, and I've been itching to go live. Unfortunately, the new PC parts I ordered didn't arrive until I got back from my trip, so I couldn't stream last week. I'm really sorry about that!

The good news is, I spent yesterday afternoon putting together half of the new PC build! All that's left is to install the power supply, slot in the graphics card, and manage the cables. I basically upgraded everything except the GPU this time, and I even splurged on a nicer case. I'm really hoping this new rig will last me at least five years. Most importantly, please let it boot up on the first try! Fingers crossed!

I spent almost all of this week traveling. I have to admit, our timing was super unlucky because we ran straight into a cold front. Even though we went out to explore after arriving in Kinmen, it was just freezing! By the afternoon, all we could do was hide in our hotel room, wrapped up in blankets and shivering. We did manage to grab some delicious beef noodle soup, check out a bunch of Wind Lion God statues, walk along the beach, and explore the Jiugong Tunnel. Riding across the Kinmen Bridge felt like a scene straight out of Fast & Furious. The crosswinds were absolutely insane and hit us in huge gusts. Riding a scooter up there, I really felt like I was going to be blown right off. Thank goodness my mom and I made it across safely!

Honestly, though, riding across the Kinmen Bridge was a blast!

We flew to get to Kinmen this time. Even though I've flown on larger planes to Malaysia before, I was still amazed by just how huge the size difference is between domestic and international aircraft. The airport had an observation deck, and watching the planes take off and land made me completely understand why some people love plane spotting—it's incredibly cool! I even got to see how they load the in-flight meals onto the plane, which felt super impressive.

It was seriously way too cold, though! My mom and I agreed that next time we go on a trip, we need to pick a time when the weather isn't freezing or boiling (so annoying that we caught a cold front!). If you guys have any fun travel recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

That's about it for this week's journal. Let's catch up on everything else during the stream! See you next week, and good night!
