20231207 Deep Space Domain Lord's Weekly Journal: Chapter 59

Hey everyone! It's time for our weekly journal catch-up!

I took a bit more time off this week, but right before my break, I successfully beat *Layers of Fear*—round of applause! Here's my quick review: if you already own the 2016 or 2019 versions, you honestly don't need to buy the newest release. Just watching my playthrough is enough (?). But if you've never played the older games, I highly recommend grabbing the 2023 version while it's on sale!

The game features two main storylines, a brand-new "Writer" story that ties everything together, plus three additional stories from the DLCs that offer different perspectives. In total, the new edition gives you six distinct stories to dive into at your own pace. It feels a lot like watching a movie as you slowly uncover the beginnings and endings of each narrative. The graphics, plotlines, and mechanics have all seen massive upgrades from the originals. If I had to sum up the entire plot, it's basically a bloody massacre sparked by rats. It's not downright terrifying, but the eerie, suspenseful atmosphere and occasional jump scares are definitely enough to make you break into a cold sweat. The real highlight, though, is the mind-bending level design. The way the environment seamlessly shifts and changes the second you look away is just brilliant—it's exactly what cements the game's overall vibe and sense of dread.

Besides *Layers of Fear*, I also did some crafting and had some amazing collabs! I absolutely adore Nana's voice, Lulu's energy, and A-Ji's character design—they're all so incredibly cute <3. I'm also getting ready to knit my third scarf! My commissions are coming along smoothly too, so everything's been pretty perfect. The only downside? My PC is, um, probably, maybe, definitely dying on me. Because of that, I've already started planning to get a new one. Who knows, there might even be a video of me building a PC when the time comes (but seriously, no promises).
