20231102 Deep Space Lord's Weekly Journal Chapter 54

Hey everyone! It's that time of the week again for the weekly journal!

I didn't stream today, but guess what? I ordered some hairy crabs! I've been wanting to try them for the longest time since I don't actually remember eating crab that often. The craving just hit me recently, so I did some research online and realized how incredibly easy it is to buy them. You can literally order live hairy crabs online, get them shipped straight to your door in cold storage, and they arrive completely alive! So cool! Once they got here today, I immediately gave them a good wash, set up a big iron pot with water, rice wine, and a steaming rack. I placed the two crabs belly-up, tossed in some ginger slices and the leaves that came with them (pretty sure they were shiso leaves, but I'm not 100% certain). I steamed them for 20 minutes, and once they were done, the real challenge began—picking the meat. Honestly, it was so hard! I started when they were piping hot and kept at it until they were ice cold. I remember looking up at the clock at 5:11, going back to picking, and the next thing I knew, it was 6:00?! In the end, it took me three solid hours to pick all the meat and roe, and I devoured it all in just a few spoonfuls. LMAO.

I feel like the best way to eat crab is to just eat it as you pick it. It has this subtle saltiness, super fresh, with the unique aroma of the roe and a hint of creaminess. The meat was delicious! The texture was amazing, and there were huge chunks of roe. But you definitely have to eat it while it's hot. Saving it all until the end meant it got cold, and the aroma faded a bit, which was a bummer. Still, I finally satisfied my craving for hairy crab! I probably won't be doing this again anytime soon—unless I somehow forget the sheer agony of spending three hours picking crab meat. XD

This week, we had our official website members-only stream and played some Apex. I feel like I've finally gotten my groove back in Apex, which is such a relief! I actually dropped 2,700 damage with the new legend on stream yesterday! I played a few games today and even grabbed a win. This season feels a bit easier than the last one, or maybe it's just me? My new vertical mouse is a bit on the heavier side, but I've been using it for a while now and have gotten pretty used to it. Plus, being wireless means I don't have to worry about cable drag when moving it around. Overall, it feels a bit more stable than my old mouse. Honestly, now that I'm used to the vertical grip, going back to a standard mouse feels completely foreign and super weird.

I recently caught up on the latest episodes of Frieren, but I haven't started reading the manga yet. However, I did check out Undead Unluck and The Apothecary Diaries, and they're both really good! Gina from Undead Unluck is especially gorgeous! I absolutely love her hairstyle, hair color, and outfits—she has total pretty girl energy! Even though the art style isn't what I'm typically used to and the backgrounds are a bit plain, the overall audio-visual experience is fantastic. The OP and ED are total bangers, too! I highly recommend you guys check them out.

I also read a really good novel! It's one I had put on the back burner for a long time before finally picking it up again. I'm not entirely sure if I've already recommended it to you guys, so I think I'll just finish reading it first and share it once I'm done!
