20230824 Deep Space Lord's Weekly Journal Chapter 45

Hey everyone! It's time for our weekly journal entry!

It's gotten noticeably hotter this week since the typhoon passed. Plus, with Fancy Frontier (FF) and CWT happening last week, it felt like everyone was out and about! Did you guys get out to enjoy the nice weather or have any fun? If you scored any sweet loot from the conventions, drop a picture in the comments so I can see! I actually noticed a few of you bought my acrylic standees at FF—that flower-viewing design turned out so good, right?

Playing Everybody 1-2-Switch! together on Saturday night was a blast. Even though I was the only one who could control games like the ninja one since it requires a Joy-Con, and the other games basically required us to read each other's minds (honestly, even I had to guess what was going on half the time), playing party games with such a big group is always so much fun! We should definitely do it again sometime (when I remember to)! Heck yeah!

I've gotta say though, after finishing a massive game like Sekiro, I always hit this weird slump where I don't know what to play next. It doesn't really feel like the right time to dive into another huge playthrough right now, so I'm a bit paralyzed by choice. For the next couple of weeks, I'll probably just focus on practicing for the triathlon, or maybe jump into some Apex Legends. Once the tournament is over, we can start our next big game!

By the way, there's a YouTube members-only stream coming up this Sunday! I'm thinking we can pick a movie on Netflix to watch together. I haven't actually decided on a movie yet, haha, but we'll probably use Teleparty again so we can all watch in sync. Come hang out if you can!

Since I had the day off today, I spent the entire day researching digital bank accounts, credit cards, and stocks. Surprisingly, I actually really enjoyed it! I even grabbed a pen and took notes for the first time in forever. It made me wonder—for those of you who also wield the magic plastic, do you periodically check which bank has the best rewards and switch up your primary card? For me, I haven't had a credit card for very long, and honestly, trying to figure out all the reward tiers and conditions is usually a headache. I generally just look up whatever card is popular right now with easy-to-hit bonuses and apply for that. But while I was budgeting my finances today, I ended up going down a rabbit hole from credit cards straight into the stock market, lol! Oh, and I finally found the next credit card I want to apply for. Honestly, having a card that just *looks* cool is a huge factor for me!

I also started reading a pretty good fantasy web novel recently, though it's still ongoing! It's called *The Duke's Daughter is Dabbling in Magitech*. It's exactly the kind of premise I've mentioned before—a magical fantasy world blended with modern technology! It also has the whole "reincarnated as the villainess" trope going for it. Overall, the writing is solid, and I really like the female lead's personality. Her dynamic with the male lead is pretty good so far too, so I'm hoping we get a sweet romance arc later on!

That's all for this week's journal. See you next time! Goodnight!
