20221229 Deep Space Domain Lord Weekly Journal Chapter.11

I can't believe the year is already coming to an end!!! Have you all figured out what you want to do next year? Back on Christmas, I took some time with you guys to look back at what we accomplished this year and sketched out some rough plans for the next. Honestly, though, my lack of confidence held me back from writing down too many goals. I was worried that if I fell short, I'd let everyone down. But then again, if I don't push myself to write more, how will I ever know where my limits are? When you're setting your own goals, do you ever hold back from aiming too high because of different worries like this?
I've realized that self-doubt isn't really something you can just switch off. But after those moments of doubting myself, I'll experience or remember something heartwarming that soothes those doubts, and then the cycle just repeats itself. I wonder if you Cottons have ever gone through a phase like that? (When I streamed on PlayOne today, you all healed my heart all over again. I seriously love you guys! I hope I was able to pass on the same warmth to you that I felt!)
The upcoming New Year is the Year of the Rabbit. Have any of you heard any memorable New Year's greetings for the Year of the Rabbit? All I can think of are the standard ones like "Happy Year of the Rabbit" or "Good luck in the Year of the Rabbit," and I'm totally drawing a blank on anything else ><
This week, I've been reading a novel that subverts all the usual entertainment industry tropes, and it really calls out the current state of toxic fandom culture. Back when I followed a K-pop girl group, I'd sometimes see fans of different members tearing into each other. It wasn't even just between rival groups—fans of members within the exact same group would fight! It honestly shocked me. Aren't we all brought together by a shared love for their work? Even though the novel doesn't spend a ton of time criticizing this, I'm really enjoying it because it flips the usual clichés on their head. It looks like it's almost finished, so I'll share the title with you guys once it wraps up!
That's it for this week's journal. See you all next week!
(On 1/5/2023, I accidentally deleted the second half and couldn't recover it, so I had to retype it. If it reads a bit differently from the original, that's completely normal—no need to panic, the timeline hasn't been altered :D)
