20221124 Deep Space Domain Lord's Weekly Journal Chapter 6

Sneak peek at a silly short video! You can watch the giant ball of fluff over in the members-only area (please turn down your volume).

The weather is pretty nice today. Lately, I've been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone, but somehow my procrastination has only gotten worse.

There's so much stuff I haven't done yet! Though as long as I keep working on it, I'll still have time.

I feel like a lot of the time, I just don't realize I can do things a certain way until later, so my planning gets delayed. By the time I actually figure it out, the schedule is already super tight. But acting on an idea as soon as I get it is probably a good thing, right? Even if it means I might be cutting it close. ><

Sometimes I just can't bring myself to submit things even when the deadline hits. Because of this, I used to try setting my own personal deadlines to force myself to finish early. But I'd still just keep putting it off until I blew past my own deadline anyway. ORZ. I wonder if it's because I'm not putting enough pressure on myself, or because the consequences aren't severe enough, so I just dare to let it slide. (శωశ)

If I were to compare it to college grades: anything for a group project would never be late (even if I'm desperately cramming at the last minute). But for assignments where my grade is the only one on the line, I might completely miss the deadline—usually for classes where failing wouldn't totally ruin me.

Do you guys struggle with procrastination too? I'd love to know how you all overcome the urge to put things off. 。゚ヽ(゚´Д`)ノ゚。

Anyway, right now I'm stuck in this feverish state of forcing myself to work: "If I don't work hard my reputation is ruined! Work hard right now!!! Do not miss the deadline!!!"

(Don't worry about me getting too stressed, though! If the pressure hits a breaking point, my brain just switches back to: "Everything is a gift from destiny, and realizing what I need to do right now must be part of a grander plan!")

------------------------------------

I just watched the latest episode of Bocchi the Rock! Bocchi is seriously so funny. XDDDD I'm also starting to really love her little sister, Futari—the way she casually roasts her older sister is just the best! The whole Gotoh family is pretty outgoing, but Bocchi has such severe social anxiety. Since I haven't read the original manga, I'm really looking forward to the anime explaining what actually caused her social anxiety in the first place.

I'm in a bit of a reading slump with novels right now, but I came across a really interesting premise a while ago that I have to share with you! The main character gets a "system" that rewards him for "taking things too seriously" or basically being petty and unyielding. What does that mean? Let me give you an example from a part I remember: The neighbor living upstairs has a super energetic kid who bounces around at all hours. The MC lives right below them and literally can't sleep at night. At first, he tries to reason with the neighbors, but they either dodge him entirely or are completely rude about it. So, he gathers evidence and goes to the building management, asking them to put a stop to it. Management tells him it's out of their hands and basically says, "If you're so capable, go sue them." The MC feels like he's paying all these HOA fees for nothing. Furious, he hires a lawyer, preps a rock-solid case, and sues them to get his rights back. He actually wins the lawsuit, and the neighbors get fined, but they still refuse to quiet down. Finally, the MC uses a million dollars given to him by his "system" to rent out all the apartments surrounding the noisy neighbors. He moves out, sets up massive speakers in his own place and all the rented apartments, and blasts them on a timer every single night until the neighbors can't take it anymore and move out.

(My memory is a bit of a goldfish brain, so the actual plot might be slightly different. If you're interested, you can try looking it up, but I completely forgot the name of the book.)

The author's culture might be a bit different from ours, and obviously, we don't have magical "systems" in real life, so the MC's actions probably wouldn't fly in reality. But it's just so satisfying to read! It really gives off that "evil gets what's coming to it" vibe. XD

That's it for this week's update! See you all next time!
