20221103 Deep Space Domain Lord's Weekly Diary Chapter 3

Today is day eight since my LASIK eye surgery! Tomorrow I have my follow-up appointment to get the protective contact lenses taken out, and my eyes will finally be back to their natural state. So excited!!!
Last week I introduced you all to the K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE. This week, let's talk about what I've been eating lately!
My mom is absolutely amazing at making soup. Because the weather has been getting chilly and I need to recover from my eye surgery, she made four different kinds of soup over five days. The first one was garlic chicken soup. The rich, slightly spicy kick of the garlic blends perfectly with the mild, comforting chicken broth—it's an incredible combo. I've actually lost my voice before from accidentally drinking too much of it, so this time I took it slow and had smaller portions. A quick tip for you all: be careful not to go overboard with the garlic when you make this!
The second one was shiitake mushroom chicken soup. The big mushrooms were so juicy—mushrooms that have soaked up all that chicken broth are practically unbeatable. The pieces of chicken were huge and incredibly tender, too. Every single bite was just so satisfying. The third soup was a pork rib and daikon radish stew. My mom threw in some large baby corn to simmer with it, and garnished it with a little cilantro right before serving. The broth was packed with the natural sweetness of the veggies, and the radish was cooked down until it literally melted in my mouth. The pork ribs were out of this world!!! I just love that specific flavor you get from ribs. The baby corn was super sweet, too. To be honest, I actually prefer baby corn over regular corn. They taste pretty similar, but baby corn is just so much easier to eat. I wonder which one you Cottons prefer?
The fourth soup—the one she made today—was a fish soup. It was made with some kind of fish I couldn't identify, topped off with a few fish balls. And of course, you absolutely have to put ginger slices in fish soup!! I also sprinkled in a bit of cumin powder. The way the ginger, cumin, and the fish broth all come together is just fantastic. Having a warm bowl of fish soup on a chilly day to ward off the cold and get some good nutrients in feels like pure bliss.

I totally just spent a massive amount of time talking about my mom's soup. XD
Aside from being super happy with all this great food, I also completely updated my stream overlay. It’s actually been a really long time since I’ve played around with arranging different assets to make things look pretty. It was so nice to get back to something that used to give me such a huge sense of accomplishment!
I also headed out today to take care of some errands! It had been drizzling for the past couple of days, so it was perfect timing to finally feel some warm sunshine. Even though I had to wear sunglasses to protect my eyes, it didn't ruin my mood for a nice walk at all!
(Though honestly, if I don't have to leave the house, I'd still rather just stay in.)
You Cottons make sure you're eating well, drinking plenty of hot soup, bundling up, and staying safe when you head out!
