Under Buke-sensei's supervision, I ran my very first study stream on Monday!

I've been tentatively calling it "Sofia Studies," though "Sofia Grinds" would probably also work, honestly?

The word for "study/grind" (勉強) has a whole different meaning in Japanese vs. Chinese, which makes it a fun little bilingual joke (lol)

First time using Duolingo. I'd say I'm starting from basically less than zero, like I barely remember my times tables at this point.

But Duolingo's very first lesson turned out to be SO basic that I somehow had no idea how to even use it XD

I heard even native Japanese speakers don't always pass the N1 exam — kind of like how not every native Taiwanese speaker passes the national Chinese proficiency test?

Then again, at this point I probably couldn't pass a middle school exam either, sob.

Speaking of which, I hadn't touched my mic settings at all, but suddenly my mic started acting weird out of nowhere.

Thankfully, after asking around the SODAART crew, it got sorted out — Amien even walked me through her own setup.

Tuesday I hopped on Only Up again!

Last time I streamed forever and didn't make any new progress at all, genuinely cried about it (◞‸◟)

This time I had an enthusiastic viewer, Jinjinzi, coaching me from chat, and I finally hit a new personal best!!

This run's stats: 11 screams, 31 "fae language" outbursts, 16 falls.

That's real progress! Big improvement!

At this rate, the day I finally reach the top can't be far off, right?

...right?

Wednesday I finally tried the Korean soulslike I'd been curious about for a while — the Lies of P demo!

I'd seen a bit of it before and thought the visuals looked gorgeous, so I really wanted to try it myself.

The earlier demo was only available for a limited time, but now that it's open again, might as well dive in!

I heard it's got serious Bloodborne vibes, though as a total souls-genre newbie, little me honestly can't tell~

The controls in this game seem genuinely tough — I died a ridiculous number of times just to the very first elite enemy ｡ﾟ･(つд｀ﾟ)･ﾟ｡

And I couldn't even beat the very first boss, the Parade Master... wait, this demo has THREE bosses!?

Thursday I played Lies of P again.

Since I'd pulled an all-nighter the day before, I actually passed out mid-fight against the Parade Master QQ

Thankfully, after getting some rest, I finally beat the Parade Master and got to meet Sophia!

Waaah, Sophia is so beautiful!

Okay, honestly, I'll be real — the fact that there's a character named Sophia in this game is exactly why I wanted to play it in the first place!

That said, this game is genuinely too hard for me. I really hope the full release adjusts the difficulty a bit.

In the end I got stuck on that same elite enemy and couldn't get past it ｡ﾟ･(つд｀ﾟ)･ﾟ｡
