Kuku's Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi Set!

It's almost Dragon Boat Festival!!!

This time Kuku made zongzi together with Kuku's mom!

Posted them yesterday afternoon and they SOLD OUT by evening!! You guys are amazing!!!!

Only had six sets prepared for this one!

So yeah, first come first served!

This round's commissioned art style is those adorable pixel charms —

I love them so much, they're so cute.

So let me tell you about some funny stuff that happened while I was home making zongzi with my mom.

The night before, my mom told me to come home early since we were heading to the market together in the morning to get ingredients.

But I stayed up way too late the night before watching One Piece.......

And of course, I overslept.

By the time I got home, my mom had already bought everything and was already prepping ingredients.

She looked at me and said, "coming home this late, were you planning to wrap air for people to eat?"

And I said, wrap air? Like the emperor's new zongzi?

Then I asked, is there such a thing as a zongzi that's just sticky rice, no filling at all?

My mom said —

"That's called a rice ball."

I straight up burst out laughing, that's actually true XDDDD

Once the ingredients were ready, my mom taught me how to layer everything in.

Adding the filling, fine, no big deal — but let me tell you, actually wrapping it up and tying it shut is INSANELY hard.

Everything I wrapped at first got rejected by my mom XDDD

She just redid it all herself, said mine would fall apart completely and be totally inedible.

Honestly, thank goodness I had my mom there with me this time — otherwise you'd all be getting crumbly zongzi (lol)

Also, making them myself, I learned that the filling ingredients actually need to be stir-fried first!

I genuinely thought you just threw the raw stuff straight in.

Learned something new today.

Also! Southern-style zongzi use long-grain sticky rice, not the regular kind.

Not sure if you all like salted egg yolk, but I love it so much I put one in every single one.

So good!!!!

They're all sold out now, but! Here's some good news!!

During tonight's stream, I'll be raffling off one lucky winner to get a set of Kuku zongzi!!

Any member has a shot at winning! Though if you already have a set, you're out of the running~ and you gotta actually be there live!!

Roger's the one who donated his set for the giveaway — said he won't be in Taiwan for the next two or three months, so he's giving his share to everyone.

(Roger is such a sweetheart!! An actual angel QQ!!!!)

See you all tonight!
