This week's musings are about the "devoted wife" bento I made over the weekend!

First up, the little sausages.

It was my first time making the octopus-shaped sausages, and while I was cutting slits in the bottom I kept thinking, "is this actually going to turn into a tiny octopus...?"

But sure enough, once they hit the pan they curled right open on their own — so cute, they even made little popping sounds!

I think I made them look pretty great, no?

Next, some really delicious simmered potatoes and pork!

Using a pressure cooker, I managed to get the potatoes perfectly soft while the meat still held its texture.

I personally think this dish turned out amazing — I had two bowls of rice with it XDD

Then, the adorable crying-face rice balls!

That nori seaweed was genuinely hard to cut, took me forever.

Especially the curve of the mouth, lol, I nearly lost it cutting that.

And here's everything laid out together at the end.

Oh, and I stuck cute little cat-grass decorations on everyone's lids.

Seeing it all arranged together, it's really adorable.

This was my first time making this kind of bento, curious if everyone likes it.

While I was making it, I kept flashing back to high school, when I used to cook all the time XDDD

Guess my culinary program education wasn't wasted after all!

The merch that went along with this was also really nicely made and good-looking — the big standee looks super premium displayed.

The little charm is adorable too!
