<Mama's Garden Management Log> 6/21/2023

Yesterday I ran three streams back to back and completely wiped myself out, so here's this week's log, one day late

With Dragon Boat Festival right around the corner, I suddenly remembered a day back when I was a kid, so absorbed in making sachets I forgot to eat or sleep, just so I could hand them out to my little siblings Feels like this tradition's been slowly fading now that we're all grown up So on a whim I decided to go grab materials and make sachets for all the Somins! By the time these reach you, the festival will already be over... but I still hope these little handmade gifts bring you some happiness and good luck!

Monday morning over brunch, I was thinking about how my go-to shop up north is always such a trek for materials, so I checked if there was a branch on the edge of Forest Town — only to discover the Forest branch had shut down entirely! What was supposed to be a relaxed day turned into a mad dash, and I ended up racing all the way to Taipei just to get everything I needed XD

Back in Forest Town I got my nails done, then decided to grab dinner at the department store since it'd honestly been ages since I wandered around downtown only to find the whole food court had done a total musical-chairs shuffle on its restaurant lineup!?!?! QQ A place that had been open for years got replaced by something new, and the eggs Benedict I was craving was nowhere to be found — my cravings went totally unsatisfied!

Guess the pandemic really did hit a lot of businesses hard, and changed so many people's lives along with it

Reinfection numbers have been climbing lately, and with the long Dragon Boat Festival weekend coming up, please stay careful and hygienic when you're out and about — hoping everyone stays safe and healthy!
