[Hikari's Izakaya Diary] May Brings a New Challenge 2023/5/5

First things first (bowing in apology!) — I came back in April, posted two diary entries, and then fell off again until now. I'd originally planned to write Part 2 of the Southeast Asia travel log, but I haven't done the stream recap for it yet, so I figured I'd fold it into next week's diary once that's done!

May is here, and right off the bat I want to share how April went. Overall, April was a pretty stable, uneventful month, but the numbers are showing that my channel is gradually settling into a plateau. I know I said last month that I was feeling pretty steady about it mentally, but if May's numbers don't improve on April's, that plateau might not just be flat growth — it could tip into actual decline. So this month's numbers really matter for me. It's a real challenge, but no matter what, streaming should still be something I enjoy doing. I'm feeling a bit of pressure today, honestly, so I figured I'd vent it out through this diary entry instead.

"This isn't just a hobby anymore, so I need to take it more seriously" — that's what I told myself today. Honest talk: I don't love comparing myself to others, but seeing so many impressive rookies about to debut makes me want to step up my own game too. I really don't want to get overtaken that easily lol, so I guess deep down I do still love a good challenge? Writing this down here as a record of my own competitive streak.

"When's 2.0 getting announced?" — sorry to keep everyone waiting on this one. We just really want to show you all the best possible version, and we've been heads-down on it lately. We've decided to make the announcement after my second VTuber birthday, so please bear with us a little longer — I promise you'll love it!

Also, funny enough, two weeks ago I started a "no work on Sundays, absolutely" policy for myself, and I've already broken it two weeks running lol.
