[Hikaru's Izakaya Diary] Apartment Hunting Is Brutal.... 7/17/2023

Morning, everyone! It's Hikaru — the collab's already wrapped and it's now July 17th, so let me hurry up and catch up on this week's diary... We're past mid-July now, and I'm facing my biggest challenge of the year: apartment hunting! After a full year of this, I'm more certain than ever that I want to keep leveling up my streams, so finding a place where I can actually live comfortably AND stream reliably is absolutely non-negotiable!

Finding a place is SO hard... anyone got recommendations? A week of apartment hunting has really taught me how exhausting renting can be — running all over the place, checking listing after listing, only to show up and find the landlord's missing half the furniture, which means a bunch of surprise extra costs. Then you find a decent place and it turns out to be way too out of the way, so that's a no-go too. And some landlords won't even let you apply for rental subsidies...

I've moved twice since I started streaming, and honestly, over this past year-plus, I've never quite felt like my living setup matched what I actually wanted for streaming. And now, right when I'm swamped with everything else, my lease is down to its last two weeks. I'm really hoping I can lock down a place I'm happy with in the time I've got left. This whole apartment situation has been eating into so much of the content I wanted to make — I feel completely drained. But this time, I am NOT settling! I'm finding the best place possible, and when I do, I'm going to scream so loud I'll blow out everyone's eardrums — so keep your ears ready!
