[Hikari's Izakaya Diary] I Am NOT Drunk!!!! (6/25/2023)

Apparently this is what you all imagine I look like on a Friday night...

Okay, honestly... yeah, that's pretty much accurate. I was definitely drunk — not so drunk I couldn't walk or talk, but drunk enough that even days later, I still can't bring myself to watch the VOD to find out what I actually said that night.

My dyshidrotic eczema has finally mostly cleared up, so I decided it was time for a long-overdue drinking stream. Honestly, back when I first debuted, I'd hoped to do at least one drinking stream a month — I mean, I'm technically a bar owner, so it felt weird for my content to have literally nothing to do with a bar. But early on I barely had any money for alcohol, and I was also worried about saying something I'd regret while drunk, so I just didn't do them very often. Now that I can actually use your donations to buy drinks, starting in July, I'm hoping to do at least one drinking stream a month!

This Friday I also took part in the celebrity exhibition match for the Taiwan VTuber Shaolin Soccer tournament, playing on Team Pretty Cure alongside Aya and A-Mian. We practiced together about three times before the match — nowhere near pro-level, but I'll admit, deep down, I really wanted us to take first place in that exhibition match.

But the other teams weren't messing around either. Even though everyone went in "just for fun," you could tell everyone had put in serious prep. In the end we didn't take the win, but honestly, everyone was incredible. And I had SO much fun! It was the first time doing something competition-related with fellow agency members, and in the moment, it was genuinely thrilling — my hands were literally shaking during the match. I don't think I've felt that adrenaline rush in over a decade XD.

So yeah, we didn't end up winning. Our team's slogan going in was "no trophy, no hair" — and then A-Mian went and threw in a last-minute rule that whoever lost had to dress up as a woman... so where does that leave us...!?
