[Hikari's Izakaya Diary] Back in Taiwan - April 8, 2023

Seriously, how bad do my photography skills have to be to take a picture this blurry...?

Anyway, after five weeks of traveling, I'm finally back in Taiwan. I honestly can't even remember the last time I touched down here on a plane—it feels like a lifetime ago. This also means my vacation is officially over. Thank you to all my viewers for waiting so patiently this past month. I'll be gradually easing back into my streaming schedule now.

Since I got back, a lot of friends and viewers have asked if the trip was absolutely amazing. I have to be completely honest, though: right around the halfway point, the vibe kind of shifted... I even thought about just packing up and coming straight home. Traveling made me realize that I've poured so much of my time into work over the last two years that I've completely neglected my personal life and social circle. Truth be told, you guys—my viewers—have been my biggest source of company. Chatting with all of you so often is what has kept me emotionally fulfilled. But out on the road, without having people to just share things with or talk to, a massive wave of loneliness washed over me. Before long, all I wanted was to go back to my everyday streaming life.

It was supposed to be a fun, carefree vacation, so how did it end up like this? Honestly, don't worry about me too much lol. I still had a great time and enjoyed the trip. It just ended up becoming a chance to reconnect with myself and figure out what I really want. I recognized that I still have so much room to grow, and I want to become a better, stronger version of myself. After all, life is only fun when you're challenging yourself. I might joke all the time about how we should all just lie flat and do nothing—or how I want to do that myself—but if I actually lived my life without any goals, I know I'd eventually lose everything I already have.

Anyway, consider this quick post a placeholder for my return diary lol. I'll sort through my travel photos soon and share them in future weekly updates. Thank you all so much for your understanding over the past month, and I hope you'll continue to support my streams going forward. Thank you!
