[Hikari's Izakaya Diary] The Exhausting Life of Editing Highlights... 9/10/2023

I actually finished typing up this weekly update and hit publish, but for some reason, it didn't go through. So here I am typing it all out for a second time, which means it might be lacking a little bit of soul... As the image above perfectly captures, whenever I'm exhausted and want to go to sleep before finishing my work, I just wish someone would punch me right in the face.
I started editing my own highlight Shorts at the end of August, hoping it would help get the channel some more exposure. But man, the second I started editing, all my free time completely went out the window. Just trying to stick to an every-other-day upload schedule has left me absolutely dead this week. Honestly, I didn't expect editing highlights to be such a massive undertaking. Now, any time I'm not live, I'm basically either editing clips or reviewing VODs. Truly living up to that "full-time VTuber" title, right? (collapses)
To be honest, time management has always been a massive struggle for me. Whenever a random idea strikes, I have this habit of diving in and hyper-focusing on it. I'll even stay up all night trying to finish it right then and there because I'm terrified I'll lose the spark if I wait until the next day. But because of that, my sleep schedule constantly gets turned upside down, and I end up wasting so much time trying to fix it. It's a total vicious cycle. It's honestly frustrating that after all these years, I still can't shake this self-destructive sleep habit. I just really hope all this effort pays off in the end. Here's hoping YouTube notices me soon and blesses me with the algorithm.
Some people have suggested that I outsource the editing, but for now, I still want to do it myself. On one hand, I want to build up my own editing skills and experience. On the other, it gives me a chance to review my past streams. Going back through my own VODs is actually pretty fun! It lets me see exactly what I talked about, check if my delivery and energy levels were on point, and makes it way easier to pinpoint the exact moments I want to highlight. Plus, I've realized just how much talking I actually do in a single stream!
That wraps up this week's diary. Sorry I didn't have a whole lot of exciting news to share this time around! Hopefully, I'll have more fun stuff to talk about next week. Anyway... back to editing highlights I go QQ.
