[Hikari's Izakaya Diary] Freezing Weather and Endless Work! Jan 28, 2023

First off, I accidentally closed my editor halfway through writing this diary entry again... so what you're reading right now is draft number two. Somebody save me from myself!

I'm leaving for my trip in exactly a month, but my workload is never-ending! Absolutely nothing I planned to get done this week is on schedule, especially the stream highlights. I only managed to edit a single clip all week! Just one! My productivity completely tanked, and honestly, it's because it's freezing. Seriously, it's so cold! Why is it even this chilly down south? My brain just wants to shut down and hibernate. Fingers crossed I can get back on track this week (please warm up already!).

I do have some good news to share, though—my flights and hotels for the trip are fully booked! It took me three solid days of endlessly browsing, getting too cold, and retreating back to my blankets. Eventually, with a friend keeping me accountable, I finally got all the reservations locked in. I can't wait to share all my travel stories with you guys. In fact, I'm already looking forward to finding cool things to show you while I'm out there!

The 10K subscriber celebratory artwork arrived this week! A huge thank you to Fuhei Gaku—it turned out absolutely gorgeous! This is probably the most detailed commission of Hikari I've ever received, and I couldn't be happier. Did you guys catch the little logo easter egg on the chili sauce jar? I figured I'd drop it in this week's diary so everyone can appreciate the details.

To wrap things up, I want to share my current food obsession. The spicy pork and vegetable wonton noodles from Bafang Yunji are legitimately so good. I'm not sure if I've mentioned them before, but even though Bafang keeps raising their prices, getting soup, noodles, and wontons all in one bowl for just 75 NTD is a total steal. I highly recommend it—definitely go try a bowl if you get the chance!
