About Taiwan Shuraba

Hello everyone! We are Taiwan Shuraba.

Our circle's mission is to introduce the incredible work of active Taiwanese creators to fans here in Japan.

Japan and Taiwan already enjoy vibrant cultural exchanges, with many people traveling between our two countries. Japanese subcultures—like gaming, manga, and anime—are massively popular in Taiwan.

However, Japanese audiences might not be as familiar with Taiwan's own booming subculture scene.

That's exactly why we launched this circle: to help people in Japan discover, experience, and fall in love with Taiwanese subculture.

Beyond showcasing creators on our website and Twitter, we sell doujinshi through major retailers like Toranoana and Melonbooks, and we actively participate in local events. We are also launching an online shop right here on our official site.

If our efforts can help bridge the gap and foster deeper connections between creators and fans in Japan and Taiwan, we couldn't ask for anything more.

Hi everyone, Soda here!

Taiwan Shuraba was founded in March 2018. It was proposed by Krenz, often affectionately known in the art community as the "Neighborhood Chief of Illustration," and I stepped up to manage our operations in Japan.

Currently, our core team consists of myself and my Japanese friend, Tateishi. Our main focus is acting as a proxy for Taiwanese illustrators and circles, helping them sell their work in Japan.

We handle everything from distributing their creations to major bookstores like Melonbooks, Toranoana, and Alice Books, to representing them at major Japanese doujin events like Comiket and Comitia.

With our recent website revamp, we are now offering direct online sales as well.

Our ultimate goal with Taiwan Shuraba is to create a centralized hub for top-tier Taiwanese artists and their work, making us the go-to platform for Japanese fans looking to buy Taiwanese doujin goods.

Even if fans don't buy directly through us, we want to be the bridge that connects incredible creators with a wider audience.

Moving forward, we will continue exploring new possibilities driven by this mission. If you are a Taiwanese creator or group interested in collaborating, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!

**Soda – Creator Liaison & Website Manager**

Hello Japan! There are so many incredibly talented illustrators here. Growing up immersed in Japanese anime, manga, and gaming culture, I quickly fell in love with the country—and I know many people in Taiwan feel exactly the same way. That passion eventually led me to move to Japan. Living here really is a dream come true!

Today, Taiwan's illustration and gaming industries are booming with amazing artists who are deeply inspired by Japanese culture. Living in Japan gives me the perfect opportunity to share their phenomenal work with all of you. Please take a look—you won't be disappointed!

**Nagamaru – Japan Operations & Event Manager**

Nice to meet you! I'm Nagamaru, and I handle Taiwan Shuraba's local operations and event logistics here in Japan. I'm absolutely dedicated to promoting Taiwanese illustrators and manga artists to a broader Japanese audience. Let's make it happen!
